Final Magazine Front Cover

Now we are putting together our final Magazine Cover. As we have chosen Kirans image we have begun by placing the image onto a new document in Adobe Photoshop. As a group we decided to crop the image and make it bigger as we wanted the eyes of the girl to really stand out. We also decided that making it a closeup is more scary than using a midshot.

Then we have placed the masthead on. We have used my title of the Magazine name as it stood out. The font was called Perpetua Titling MT and it was bold writing. We also added blending options of the title using a drop shadow and a stroke to make the text be bold.

For the text we have used red and white. We have used red as we have said it is a horror edition and the colour red symbolises blood and gore. Also the white should stand out agaisnt the colour red. The font is Eras Demi ITC and it is size 21 but the red writing is 16 so that the white writing will stand out more.

We have made where we have written WHO am I? the main focus of the magazine as it is all about our horror film so the font is a much bigger size to the rest of the text on the page. But we have kept it white with a black stroke effect so that it will keep with the colour scheme. We have also made the 'am' in lower case letters so that it fits into a magazine and makes it less look like a poster font.

We have also added a puff at the bottom of the page stating 'the top magazine in the UK' which will make the magazine appear to be very popular therefore it is a good magazine which readers should look at and then hopefully buy it.

We have placed the barcode, date and price at the bottom of the page as we didnt want it to be too big where it would take the focus of the rest of the text in the magazine. Also we have analysed other magazines in our audience research and they also did not place the price or barcode in the centre of the magazine cover and it was not big or bold writing. This makes our magazine cover look more professional.
